DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW The Psychology Department currently has 35 academic FTE, an administrative staff of eleven, and makes several temporary academic staff appointments each year. The Psychology Department has over 2500 undergraduate students declared and proposed in the Cognitive Science and Psychology majors and 70 Psychology PhD graduate students. The Psychology Department Faculty and Staff are all currently housed in Social Sciences 2, John R. Lewis College. The undergraduate advising team consists of the four full-time undergraduate advisors and the Field Study Program Director. The Psychology Department staff promote a strong spirit of teamwork and embrace UCSC’s Principles of Community in meeting the needs of a diverse range of constituents. JOB SUMMARY Applies professional concepts to independently provide prescriptive advice on academic policies and procedures for the Psychology Department, including Cognitive Science and Psychology major requirements, and all aspects of course requirements for degree completion. Under the supervision of the Administrative Manager, the Undergraduate Advising Team has full programmatic responsibility for the administration of the Psychology Undergraduate Advising Program.
