Position Qualification


Position Summary

The University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska, is seeking to fill a faculty position as Clinical Psychologist in Wellness. This position reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Campus Wellness.

Working under the direction of the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Campus Wellness, this position is responsible for:

Assessing wellness needs and interests of UNMC Colleges of Allied Health Professions, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Public Health, as well as other UNMC and UNO units;

Providing proactive, preventative educational outreach services in stress management to students, residents, faculty, staff and patients;

Planning, implementation, and interpretation of evaluation of the corporate wellbeing of UNMC students, staff, and faculty through such methods as an annual campus wellbeing survey;

Developing and maintaining a comprehensive catalog of wellness activities in all UNMC units;

Participation in a collaborative research team to investigate the health effects of stress and stress management interventions on trainees, staff and patients, with the intent to develop effective and practical strategies to prevent or lessen the effects of stress and burnout on health care trainees and providers of all disciplines;

Clinical care (individual and group psychotherapy to patients).

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Clinical Psychology (Specialization in Health Psychology preferred)
• Licensure as a Clinical Psychologist
• Research experience designing independent research projects, IRB submission, manuscript preparation
• Teaching experience
• Track record of successful collaboration with other healthcare providers

Supplemental Qualifications

Grant writing experience preferred but not required
