As a member of the UDCC clinical team, the Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will provide psychiatric patient care for students within the University community. The Mental Health Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively with the psychiatrist to provide patient assessment and diagnosis, formulate treatment plans, prescribe medications, evaluate and manage medications, order laboratory tests, interpret test results, provide patient education, prepare medical records, and refer patients for inpatient care in accordance with statutes, regulations and protocols regulating the profession. This role is an active part of the UDCC Clinical team and will work hand in hand with the therapists on staff. The Mental Health Nurse Practitioner works under the supervision of the Psychiatrist and the Director of the University Counseling Center.

The Counseling Center actively contributes to the university's holistic approach to mental health and suicide prevention through integration of the UD Step Care Model and the Division of Health and Wellbeing. To achieve success, the candidate must be dedicated to reducing barriers to care that exist for communities of color, the LGBTQ+ community, and a passion for working with college students. Minimum Qualifications:

● Master’s Degree in Nursing and graduation from an ANA approved Nurse Practitioner Program (National Board Certification from ANCC or AANP).
● Current/valid RN and APRN license/license eligible to practice in the state of Ohio. May require certification in corresponding specialty.
● A minimum of three (3) years nursing experience in a clinic setting.
● Family Nurse Practitioners may be considered, but related work experience is required and candidates must currently be enrolled in a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) program prior to applying. Eligible candidates must complete the psychiatric nurse practitioner program and be eligible and willing to sit for the PMHNP examination within 12 months of their date of hire.
● Registration with the Ohio Automated Rx Reporting System (OARRS)
● Experience in delivering high-quality, client-centered care
● Able to document and navigate EHR independently
● Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality
● Ability to work collaboratively with a team of mental health professionals in the center

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

● PMHNP and Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
● Experience with young adult mental health
● Valid DEA number and unrestricted DEA license in Ohio
● History of nursing leadership roles with complex case management
