Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, the OBGYN Department Operations Manager, Clinical Programs, is responsible for overseeing administrative, financial, personnel, and organizational functions related to OBGYN clinical programs. They provide strategic leadership in planning, developing, and implementing new programs to advance the department’s mission and goals. This includes developing new clinical programs, coordinating education efforts, managing community outreach, fostering internal and external relationships, collaborating on marketing initiatives, and overseeing financial operations. Additionally, they assist in evaluating and implementing process improvements to ensure quality care and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures in alignment with University of Utah’s policies and departmental goals.
  • Collaborate with marketing and web development teams to promote clinical programs.
  • Coordinate with IT, nursing informatics, and nursing education for documentation, training, and competency needs.
  • Monitor the effectiveness and outcomes of clinical programs using data collection and reporting.
  • Facilitate specific clinical program meetings, including agenda management and documentation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison for specific clinical programs.
  • Manage relationships with healthcare providers and ambulatory clinic leaders to ensure collaboration and support for program goals.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external customers to enhance program visibility and community engagement.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related area of assignment or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Four years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of assigned department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department.
    Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.
