Posting Context Statement
The Project Support Specialist performs administrative, office and fiscal support activities for the Benewah Latah Upward Bound, Federal TRIO program. Functions of this position include: maintaining project budgets and fiscal operations, maintaining participant and project records; and providing administrative and logistical support to the program director and outreach staff. This will be located on the UI Moscow campus.
Position Overview
This position is responsible for providing administrative, logistical, and fiscal support functions for a federal TRIO program.
Duties may include:
  • Maintain project budgets and fiscal operations
  • Maintain participant and project records
  • Provide administrative, fiscal and logistical support to program director and outreach staff
  • Utilize University programs to create and submit financial documents, and to provide routine financial reports to the program administrator
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications


Required Experience
  • Composing, proofing and editing a variety of documents, using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materials
  • Using computer software and applications for word processing, developing spreadsheets, email and internet research
  • Office support functions
Required Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Other
  • Working evenings and weekends when as needed
  • Occasional overnight travel
Additional Preferred
  • Experience with:
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Interpreting, applying and explaining complex information such as regulations, policies or services
    • Managing competing priorities and deadlines
    • Working with minors
    • Navigating and applying relevant policies and procedures

  • Skills:
    • Demonstrated interpersonal skills resulting in the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, colleagues and student staff
