The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for (2) Project Managers, UNLV Economic Development - Business and Finance Administrative [R0141299]

ROLE of the POSITIONS

The Project Managers (2) will be housed within the Office of Economic Development (OED). Programs within OED focus on technology and business development, industry engagement, entrepreneurship, research, and sports innovation.

Both Project Managers will report to the Office of Economic Development's (OED) Director of Business and Finance. The two selected candidates will play integral roles in the management of grant funding, ensuring compliance with NSHE regulations, and financial reporting requirements. Working in tandem with the Business and Finance team, the Project Managers will efficiently and effectively manage various day to day financial, operational and reporting functions, to include, but not limited to grant management, monitoring expenditures, quarterly and annual reporting, and human resource management, including but not limited to grant related hiring (students, graduate assistants, and temporary employment contracts).

OED receives and manages multiple funding sources, including awards received via federal, State, and external gifts. The selected candidates will assist with the management of department expenditures, including purchasing and payment processing, human resources coordination, revenue management, reporting and grant compliance. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in financial and grants management, and/or demonstrated experience utilizing the university's Workday software.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 3+years of related financial and grants management experience in lieu of a degree.  In addition, preference will be given to those individuals with demonstrated experience in financial and grants management, and/or demonstrated experience utilizing the university's Workday software to manage financial transactions.   

Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.

KNOWLEDGE

Required

  • Fiscal management knowledge
  • Reporting and compliance knowledge 

Preferred

  • Knowledge of NSHE Workday database software
  • Demonstrated knowledge of managing, or assisting with managing, financial and HR functions
  • Knowledge of grant funding & award management

SKILLS

  • Excellent writing, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Program and time management skills with ability to follow up on tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal people skills with the ability to work with academics, business professionals/executives, business owners, and student workers
  • Proficiency in use of a personal computer and current software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email), specifically word processing, spreadsheet development, database management.

  • Knowledge of university, NSHE, federal, and state regulations, policies and procedures related to research, grants, budgets and human resources
