The University of Miami Health System, "UHealth", has an exciting opportunity for a full time IT Project Manager, Clinical Systems 2. The Project Manager, IT Clinical Systems 2 is responsible for project management of healthcare information technologies and applications, and will be responsible for all aspects of the clinical systems implementation and optimization project life cycle. The project manager must independently and successfully manage multiple, concurrent clinical system implementations and projects teams from initiation to closure. The project manager oversees the work of and mentors other project managers and team members within the department. The project manager is also responsible for evaluating, making recommendations, implementing, and ensuring adherence to project management best practices.

  • Responsible for overseeing the planning and clinical software implementation of projects through budgeting, sourcing/contracting, milestones/deliverables, and closure.

  • Develops and oversees project team members on structured methodology and best practices. Leads cross-functional project teams by task assignment and follows up to ensure on-time completion.

  • Manages programs within the PMO and champions initiatives to ensure optimal change management processes, adoption, and adherence.

  • Utilizing expert Project Management experience and formal training to analyze and propose changes to PMO methodologies, frameworks, and best practices for continuous process improvement.

  • Creates and maintains comprehensive project plans for Health System IT implementations and initiatives that communicate tasks, milestone dates, statuses and resource allocation and utilizes knowledge of clinical workflows, operations, and regulatory requirements.

  • Identifies project stakeholders and defines project roles and responsibilities. Leads cross-functional project teams and executes core project management functions end to end on strategic projects that range in scope, budget, team size, risk and complexity.

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining accurate and timely project information in all project plans, communications, status reporting, and document storage sites.

  • Responsible for communicating throughout the project lifecycle to business/technical steering committees and executive leadership. Provides regular and timely feedback to team members and their respective managers.

  • Contributes to the documentation and optimization of UHealth IT policies, procedures, and processes.

  • Drives project escalations to management to resolve issues that may negatively impact a project or project deliverables. Seeks and implements innovative ways to identify, respond to and control project obstacles/risks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field required.

  • Professional in Project Management (PMP) or equivalent certification required.

  • Six Sigma and/or Lean or equivalent certification.

  • Minimum seven years of relevant experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills

  • Strong project management skills with proven problem-solving abilities

  • Superior team building skills and the ability to collaborate well with others.

  • Great multi-tasking and leadership skills

  • Exceptional analytical, financial, management, and conceptual skills

  • Solid computer skills
