Job Summary
 

Oversee all aspects of the University's major capital improvement projects from initial assignment through completion and occupancy. Facilitate, coordinate, and lead the execution of multiple, major and minor capital projects, and smaller-scale projects as needed. Ensures that project goals are met within the prescribed scope, schedule and funding. Evaluates projects systematically to capture and share information and experience to facilitate a culture of continuous individual and organizational learning for campus.


Responsibilities
 
  • Assist in the preparation of Request for Proposal (RFP) documentation and participates in the selection of consultants, contractors, vendors, and other service providers
  • Evaluate projects systematically to capture and share information and experience to facilitate a culture of continuous individual and organizational learning
  • Oversee and process the administrative items of assigned projects including: pay requests, change orders, RFI's, submittals, closeouts, owner manuals, etc.
  • Conduct pre-construction conferences and final inspection at the completion of projects
  • Coordinate warranty repairs during the guarantee period
  • Participate in and assist with the coordination of programming, design, bidding, construction, and warranty phases of new facilities, additions, and renovation projects as assigned
  • Facilitate facility planning, budgeting, and scheduling
  • Oversee work of external consultants for assigned projects
  • Lead coordination and review of projects for constructability, code compliance, and completeness of documentation
  • Prepare detailed reports on project progress identifying problems/solutions, milestones, financial cost projections, and analyses
  • Inspect construction to monitor progress and ensure conformance to plans and specifications
  • Lead project administrative support activities including development and maintenance of job files and tracking of project schedule, scope, and budget
  • Lead, collaborate with or coordinate the planning and installation of furniture, fixture, and equipment

Required Qualifications
 

Educational Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in engineering, architecture, construction or related field

Required Experience

  • Nine (9) or more years of related work experience in the construction field
  • Supervisory experience
  • Project and budget management experience

Preferred Qualifications
 

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management professional certification

Proposed Salary
 

$65,000 - $71,700

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.

ABILITIES

  • Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position
  • Ability to read and comprehend construction plans, specifications, standards and technical literature
  • Research and stay current on the latest technology in the field

KNOWLEDGE

  • Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success
  • Extensive knowledge of building codes, architectural and engineering drafting practices, and building construction and renovation practices
  • Current working knowledge of federal and state regulations and codes

SKILLS

  • Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
  • Strong math and computer skills including AutoCAD
