Job Summary
The Project Manager – Health Equity is responsible for independently implementing and managing daily operations for several diverse studies covering a wide range of study designs, methodologies, and measures. The responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: coordinate one or more research studies; collect, enter, and clean data into electronic study databases; assist with preparation of reports, tables, and diagrams; assist with quantitative and qualitative data analyses, assist with dissemination of research findings with stakeholders and scholars both internally and externally; coordinate program planning and collaboration with program/project staff; draft, edit, and modify documents including research reports, manuscripts, presentations; etc. In addition, the Project Policy Analyst will make improvements to online content and certify it meets high website accessiblity standards, build news announcements, and create new online content when necessary.
The Project Policy Analyst must be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects with conflicting deadlines concurrently. The individual must also be self-motivated, intellectually curious, and excellent at communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
The role requires an experienced public health professional with an understanding of analytical practices, policies and procedures; is able to research, analyze and develop solutions to a wide range of issues; and demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
***NOTE: This is a 12-month 40% (part-time) Contract role.

Department Description
The Division of General Internal Medicine (DGIM) at UCSF has a wide range of clinical, research, and teaching responsibilities. DGIM’s mission is to provide high quality and accessible clinical care, medical teaching to physicians in training, and to conduct cutting-edge research in the aspects of health outcomes related to socioeconomic and ethnic factors. The Division has over 65 faculty and more than six independent research group. This position will involve supporting research studies and stakeholder engaged work with the Jih Research Group based within DGIM.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and 3 or more years of relevant experience and/or equivalent experience / training.
- Analytical / problem-solving skills.
- Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
- Strong policy analysis techniques.
- Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
