Summary of Position
This position will provide overall direction, management, and coordination for the four-year grant-funded Manchester CREATES the Future project, the Manchester Collaborative for Regenerative Medicine Education and Training for Engineers and Scientists of the Future (Manchester CREATES). The Project Director is responsible for coordinating day-to-day administrative, fiscal, and operational activities of special programs, projects, and events; provide professional administrative support independently, in accordance with priorities, time and funding limitations, or other specifications; and serve as main contact and resource person in support of the program. Working collaboratively with the project’s Faculty Principal Investigator, the Manchester School District, the University of New Hampshire faculty, staff, as well as the biofabrication industry in Manchester, the Project Director will facilitate the planning and implementation of all grant-supported activities, including teacher professional development, and summer and after-school STEM programs at Manchester School District area schools. The Project Director reports directly to the Principal Investigator with the overall goal to establish a robust pipeline from middle school to high school and beyond for the regenerative medicine and biofabrication (RM&B) industry in New Hampshire.

  • Bachelor’s in Education or a STEM related field (biology, chemistry, bioengineering is a plus)
  • 3-5 years experience working in middle or high school setting as a teacher, administrator, or counselor OR in a similar education workforce development role
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively and resourcefully
  • Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple and complex priorities
  • The ability to use tact and diplomacy in interactions with all relevant parties
  • A strong ethical code
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and be open to feedback
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including, but not limited to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Education or a STEM related field (biology, chemistry, bioengineering is a plus)
