Summary of Job Duties:

This Project Coordinator position will assist the Children’s HealthWatch staff, both in Little Rock and Boston, with the implementation, evaluation, and presentation of the Children’s HealthWatch survey instrument, other research, and overall evaluation. Responsibilities include conducting and documenting research data from Emergency Department or clinic patients/families and specifically non-English speaking families. A strong command of both the English and Spanish languages is essential. We are looking for someone who has strong interpersonal skills and can work well independently. If you have these skills, then this is the job for you!

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in health education or promotion, community health, public health, sociology, social work, or related field plus three (3) years of data entry, administrative support, or customer service or

  • Associate’s degree in health education or promotion, community health, public health, sociology, social work, or related field plus five (5) years of data entry, administrative support, or customer service or

  • High School diploma/GED plus seven (7) years of data entry, administrative support, or customer service required.



Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be bilingual (Fluent in English/Spanish).

  • High level of cultural sensitivity and experience working with multicultural and low-income populations.

  • Excellent interpersonal and written skills.

  • Basic knowledge of and skill in data entry.

  • Advanced level of computer program proficiency.

  • Ability to work independently and be a part of a team.

  • Computer data entry experience.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience in research/interviewing.

  • Strong interest in pediatric medicine, public health, social policy, advocacy, or nutrition.

  • Knowledge of federal public assistance and other social services.



Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts research in English and Spanish under the direction of the research staff, adhering to protocols with fidelity.

  • Screens potential subjects to determine eligibility for studies.

  • Approaches all available families meeting Children’s HealthWatch criteria during their visit at the ACH ED an ACH clinic or over the telephone, secures verbal informed consent, and administers the Children’s HealthWatch questionnaire.

  • Review the questionnaires for completeness and accuracy.

  • Maintains confidentiality of patient information.

  • Tracks subjects and performs necessary follow-up tasks; abstracts data from ACH medical records for entry into the Boston University database.

  • Assists in the development of data collection instruments and databases.

  • Establishes and maintains quality control protocols.

  • Contributes to the maintenance of study records.

  • Verifies accuracy and validity of collected data.

  • Maintains previous 6-month interview list.

  • Backs up electronic data daily and secures backup drives and computers as directed.

  • Consult with Boston regarding the translation of interview questions and revisions from English to Spanish.

  • Orders and accounts for subject compensation gifts.

  • Updates Children’s HealthWatch Resource list.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.
