Posting Context Statement
Position Overview
This position works closely with project investigators to research and develop a Disease Interventions Specialist (DIS) curriculum via a web-based learning platform. This position will help create, curate, develop and market the DIS content and to create a system for tracking and acknowledging DIS course completion. They work with outside project contractors to integrate health curriculum on a training platform, markets the health curriculum, maintains project communications and complete required reporting. This position works under general supervision with a significant degree of creativity and latitude. They may coordinate project operations and the daily activities of junior project personnel.
This position works within a team-based environment to complete contracted work under the guidance of the project investigators. This position reports to and directly assists the project investigator to complete contracted projects and also works closely with project team members.
This position is in partnership between faculty in Movement Sciences and the WWAMI Education Program. Movement Sciences is a scholarly and professional practice discipline where one can study movement, physical activity, exercise, performing art, leisure, sport, health and injury care and prevention to promote a healthy and productive professional practice and lifestyle. WWAMI is a partnership between the University of Washington School of Medicine and the University of Idaho that provides medical education to students in Idaho seeking the MD degree.

Position Qualifications


Required Experience
  • One year of health project coordination experience
  • Using and maintaining on-line learning management systems to create health education content.

Required Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a public health, community health, health education, biological sciences, adult education, psychology, social work or sociology

Required Other
  • None
Additional Preferred
  • Master’s in public health, community health, and/or health education
  • Experience developing and coordinating evidence-based on-line health education training curriculum
  • Experience investigating and applying public health data and evidence-based practice to create public health education content
