Posting Context Statement
The Program Specialist will serve as an integral member of Department of Student Involvement (DSI). The incumbent will develop educational opportunities and build an opportunity to gravitate in online interactions and engagement. They will recruit, initiate training, serve as a mentor, assist to foster student leadership, arrange events, and tournaments. The Program Specialist will supervise staff members and develop, market and execute Esports.
Position Overview
This position performs a complex mix of duties in support of project or program development and delivery.
Duties may include:
  • Coordinating office operations
  • Documenting and tracking program schedules and business cycles
  • Planning and coordinating program meetings and events
  • Supporting program planning and may assist with the development of operating budgets and/or funding proposals
  • Researching and compiling information for communications such as talking points, speech scripts and responses to correspondence and presentations
  • Coordinating collection of data and materials for reports and other administrative documents
  • Developing and maintaining positive liaison relationships with various offices, customers and stakeholders including internal and advisory boards
  • May assist with budget management and provide support for financial and/or personnel processes
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications


Required Experience
  • Three years providing administrative, business operations and/or program support
Required Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Other
  • One year of direct experience with competitive eSports involving team-based multiplayer online video games.
  • Experience using computer software and applications for word processing, developing spreadsheets, email, and internet research.
  • Experience with working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while managing multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse community of students, staff, faculty and community leaders.
  • Composing, proofing, and editing a variety of documents, using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materials.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of multiple games including some combination of League of Legends, Overwatch, Smash Brothers Ultimate, Rocket League, CS2 and Hello Kitty: Island Adventure.
  • Knowledgeable of basic audio and visual connections.

Additional Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer or video game technology or related
  • Experience supervising, administering and running an eSports team or program.
  • Experience working with, mentoring, and supervising students within a university setting.
  • Experience writing, editing, and developing grants, marketing materials, social media, and printing.
  • Experience streaming and shoutcasting games.
