Position Summary | The University of New Mexico College of Nursing (CON) is seeking a Program Specialist to provide day-to-day specialized programmatic and administrative support under the direction of the Project Director for the Advancing Midwifery Outcomes and Resiliency (AMOR) grant. The purpose of the grant is to increase the number of certified nurse-midwives (CNM) and diversify the maternal and perinatal health nursing workforce. The Program Specialist will support the expansion and enhancement of maternal health training to address maternal mortality, and morbidity in rural and underserved communities in New Mexico. This is a full-time in-person position that is HRSA funded for a minimum of four years. The Program Specialist will serve as the primary point of contact for the AMOR grant in collaboration with the Project Director. Primary responsibilities include the following: · Collect and manage all data related to AMOR outcomes in collaboration with College of Nursing Alumni Affairs Office · Maintain and update primary schedule for trainees · Facilitate ongoing communication with clinical training sites and trainees · Process budget expenditures and reconciliation of the AMOR grant · Schedule and participate in outreach activities in support of the AMOR grant · Create agendas and take meeting minutes in collaboration with the director · Assist with writing and editing promotional, marketing and the AMOR grant materials · Support student mentoring program development · Plan and coordinate events to recruit students, clinical partners, and other community partners · Complete reporting requirements to HRSA · Travel to clinical sites within the state of New Mexico and the Navajo Nation · Systems development to disperse and track grant funding · Other duties as assigned
College of Nursing The University Of New Mexico College of Nursing, located in Albuquerque, NM, ranks in the top 15% of nursing programs in the country. With over 1,000 enrolled students, the college offers pre- and post-licensure baccalaureate, master’s, post-master’s, and doctoral programs. Minimum Qualifications | High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
