Job Summary | This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time, (approximately 19 hours per week) Program Representative 2: Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program Representative position for the College of Business at Oregon State University (OSU). This is a limited duration appointment expected to last approximately 1 year from the appointment begin date. This Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program Representative will be a member of the Oregon State University College of Business. This position is primarily remote within the state of Oregon. Occasional travel to the hub location in Corvallis and throughout the state of Oregon will be required. The VITA Program Representative will report directly to the VITA Program Manager. The VITA Program Representative will serve as the on-the-ground representative for the mobile OSU VITA site throughout the state of Oregon and provide a range of support to enable VITA program growth and sustainment. VITA is a collaborative venture between the College of Business, Oregon State University Extension, and the Internal Revenue Service, designed to complete federal and state tax returns for low to moderate income individuals and families in Oregon. The VITA program engages with outreach to expand services of Black, Indigenous, Pacific Islander and Hispanic communities in all areas of Oregon. VITA is funded by a grant from the Oregon Department of Human Services. The position will involve acquiring and maintaining an extensive knowledge of VITA programs, policies, procedures, and requirements. The VITA Program representative is expected to act as a subject matter expert on these and to support VITA Program Site Coordinators, volunteers, and community partners on questions as they arise. The incumbent will coordinate and operate Mobile Site / “Pop-up” events (generally occurring mid-February – mid-April) for VITA tax preparation throughout the state of Oregon including working with the VITA Program Managers, and local VITA Site Coordinators to determine event location, date, hours, etc. The incumbent will have on-site operational leadership for these events whenever an OSU Site Coordinator or community-partner VITA site coordinator is not present. The College of Business joins with other departments and colleges in new initiatives to respond to the needs and concerns of OSU’s increasingly multicultural student body, and to join the ranks of top tier colleges of business across North America in terms of teaching excellence, cutting edge research, industry partnerships and community service. The College of Business is committed to maintaining and enhancing its diverse and collaborative community that strives for equity and inclusivity. All faculty and staff members are responsible for helping to ensure that these goals are achieved and should be able to demonstrate contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Such contributions can be part of service and/or professional development. Outputs and impacts of these efforts to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion will be included in annual performance reviews. |
