Position Summary:
 
Under the general direction of the Senior Director of ICS Graduate Programs and in cooperation with the Faculty Director, the Program Manager for the self-supporting Master of Software Engineering professional degree program will assist in setting overall program strategy, and will be the primary person responsible for the day-to-day activities that lead to realization of the vision and attainment of program goals. The primary role of the Program Manager is to serve as the face of the program toward students (recruiting, admissions, marketing, events) and partners (mentors, capstones, alumni). A secondary role, in close collaboration with others, is administrative, in terms of the overall program (admissions, assessment, fellowships, financial aid, management) and its finances (budgets, forecasting, reporting). The Program Manager will also work closely with the Department Chair, Department Manager, Associate Dean for Graduate Programs, Student Affairs Advisor, Business Office, Career Services, Digital Marketing Specialist, External Relations team, affiliated faculty, and other staff in all aspects of the program.
 
The Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences (ICS) offers five Master of Science programs, six PhD programs, and four Professional Masters programs. The ICS Graduate Programs Office is a professional student services office aimed at providing high quality counsel to students, faculty, and our programs. We are a collaborative team of experienced student advisors and program managers. Our team rises to the challenges and dynamics of working with a diverse, goal oriented graduate population who possess a strong desire to make the most of their experience at ICS and UCI.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $66,700.00 - $76,700.00 (Annual Salary). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $66,700.00 - $118,500.00 (Annual Salary).
 
Required:
 
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Advanced knowledge of advising and counseling techniques. 
  • Knowledge of University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences. 
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills. 
  • Multicultural competencies; ability to work with diverse populations. Advanced knowledge of complex visa and immigration policies, procedures and regulatory requirements for international students and scholars. 
  • Ability in problem identification and reasoning; ability to develop original ideas to solve problems, persuasion, leadership. Skills in monitoring / assessing people, processes or services, to make improvements. 
  • In-depth knowledge of the field's post-degree employment opportunities and practices. 
  • Skills in project management, social perceptiveness to be aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
