Job Summary
Oversee the development and administration of programs and services for postdoctoral scholars. Services include orientation, onboarding programs, career advising, job search and interviewing resources, career development workshop and professional seminars.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operations to ensure delivery of timely and effective services to postdocs; tracks employment trends and interacts with administrators, deans, department chairs, and faculty who hire postdocs.
  • Establish and maintain communications with postdoctoral fellows to develop a functional community in order to promote research collaborations.
  • Partner with other personnel to collaborate on program delivery, marketing, and web presence.
  • Serve as advisor to postdoc association, collaborate with postdoc association to plan and execute events.
  • Provide guidance to the postdoc association on programming and administration.
  • Assist campus on classification, policy and procedure concerns related to postdocs.
  • Update departmental personnel representatives on rules and regulations applicable to postdoc appointments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree (PhD) with five (5) years of professional experience in higher education and three (3) years of project management experience in implementing and delivering educational programs or equivalent relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with oversight of, or participation in, postdoctoral training at a research university.
  • Three (3) years of experience with career advising and professional development program delivery.
  • Three years of managerial experience, specifically in university setting.

  • Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources.
