Job Summary
The Program Manager will provide day-to-day management and coordination of high caliber student programs, including the Terry Scholars program. Recurring university relations with the Terry Foundation and other national organizations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Day-to-day management and coordination, including routine communication, retention monitoring, on-going development, and recognition of completion.
  • Staff sponsor of the Maverick Terry Scholars student organization and ALD organization.
  • Attend student board meetings and manage the planning and where appropriate the execution of high caliber and Terry Scholar programming.
  • Create a high-caliber communication plan.
  • Serve as project leader for annual Terry Scholar and high caliber student recruitment, including developing an advertising plan, managing the application process (to include a streamlined application process and an annual enhancement process), communicate with applicants, assist with interviews, and follow-up with all applicants.
  • Liaise with the Terry Foundation to maintain donor relations and ensure a transformational experience for all Terry Scholars and high caliber students.
  • Build and maintain rapport and liaise with staff stakeholders to ensure continued collaboration between the Division of Student Success and campus partners on the Terry team.
  • Participate in meetings, professional conferences, and individual professional development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with four (4) years of experience working with college students in an academic advising capacity or the equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in related field.
  • One (1) year of experience working with college students or adolescents in an advising capacity or the equivalent experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge Of:
  • Terry Foundation policies and procedures.
  • A working knowledge and ability to use the University Catalog is essential.

Skill In:
  • Written and verbal interpersonal communication; organizing information; problem solving; adhering to deadlines and time management; taking initiative; outreach; and navigating student information systems.
  • Demonstrated willingness and/or experience working collaboratively with students and/or co-workers from a wide range of abilities, backgrounds, and experiences.

Ability To:
  • Work professionally, collaboratively, and independently; and proficiently use Microsoft Office Programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint.
