Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Manager for the Arts in Health Research Lab at the Mason Gross School of the Arts – Dean’s Office.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Provides research and programmatic leadership for the Arts in Health Research Lab.
  • Oversees the day-to-day administration of the lab’s operations.
  • Serves as principal or co-designer and principal or co-investigator of multiple research students.
  • Executes special projects such as the creation of arts in health training modules.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates a grant-funded arts prescription project on site at the Rutgers-New Brunswick campus.
  • Explores, develops, and supports research and programmatic collaborations among faculty, staff, and students in the area of Arts in Health.
  • Oversees the work and development of student research interns/assistants, including the writing of curriculum and comprehensive instruction in research skills.
  • Performs professional work and contributes to the mission, vision, role and goals of the Lab, MGSA, and Rutgers University.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • A Master’s degree in the social sciences.
  • A minimum of three (3) years related experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Doctorate in the social sciences.
  • Participation as a researcher on large-scale research studies.
  • Experience teaching instructional design and developing MOOCs.
  • Development and organization of large, interdisciplinary academic conferences.
  • Knowledge of the intersection of technology and art, including artificial intelligence.
  • A background as an artist.
  • Python coding.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Extensive knowledge of the field of arts in health.
  • Experience overseeing the work of large teams of at least 20 people, and multiple teams simultaneously.
  • Management of multiple academic research and other projects simultaneously.
  • Extensive Institutional Review Board experience as an applicant and reviewer, with a strong knowledge of Rutgers IRB processes.
  • Research design, including for large-scale studies, interventional studies and surveys with psychometric tests.
  • Collaboration with faculty researchers from different disciplines.
  • Experience overseeing the work of student research interns/research assistants from biomedical science, art, and public health majors.
  • Development of arts in health curricula for student interns and guiding the development of their research skills and arts in health knowledge.
  • Development of online courses and evaluations for a statewide or national audience.
  • Experience teaching quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Mandatory CITI certificates in both social/behavioral and biomedical research.
  • Certificate in arts in health.
  • Certificate in public health research.
  • Quantitative and qualitative analysis skills, including work experience with SPSS, Excel, and Qualtrics.
  • Extremely strong writing skills, including the ability to synthesize large data sets for reports.
  • Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, and the ability to function in a team environment are required.
