This position will manage the day-to-day operations of the Continuing Education unit within the Office of Professional Relations and assist the Executive Director of Professional Relations and Program Director in college-wide initiatives as directed by the Dean, including:
- internal and external relations
- special events
- constituent and community engagement
- marketing
- awareness of the college and communications for the College of Optometry.
Qualifications
Bachelors and No experience
Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Experience: No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Requires confidentiality and discretion, ability to work with diverse constituent base, work under pressure, utilize critical thinking skills, troubleshoot and make decisions. Must have technical expertise with the ability to utilize a variety of software programs. Excellent customer service skills is a must. Considerable travel (local, state and national) including evening and weekend hours required. Must hold a valid Texas driver’s license. Previous experience in a university setting and/or event planning preferred. This is a Security Sensitive Position.
