Job Description:

Seeking a Program Director to lead our technology programs, overseeing a diverse range of online academic offerings.A leader in online education for over 30 years, Champlain College Online (CCO) is a division of Champlain College which was founded in 1878 in Burlington, Vermont. CCO's academic programs and accelerated undergraduate and graduate courses serve a diverse student population, and its engaging online classroom environments foster effective learning and make teaching enjoyable.

CCO Program Directors are responsible for program curriculum development, hiring and oversight of adjunct faculty, and regular program reviews to ensure quality, and are expected to collaborate closely with other CCO faculty and staff. CCO Program Directors are also required to assist Marketing, Enrollment Management, and Admissions as needed to best position CCO's programs in the higher education marketplace. This is a fully remote role. 

The successful candidate for this Program Director position will be responsible for multiple online academic programs within CCO's technology vertical, including the undergraduate degrees in Software Development, Web Design and Development, and Computer Science, and the graduate degree in Software Engineering and Project Management. The successful candidate will also possess a strong understanding of online education, the energy and time management skills to work in a fast-paced environment, and the flexibility to adapt to an ever-changing online higher education landscape.

Specifically, the successful candidate for this position will be responsible for: 

  • Overseeing multiple academic programs within CCO's technical vertical, including regular program reviews, outcome assessments, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Teaching up to twelve (12) credits of appropriate undergraduate and/or graduate courses during the Fall and Spring semesters 
  • Developing new programs (as needed) and modifying current programs to address CCO's strategic objectives
  • Contributing to CCO as a member of its Academic Leadership Team/Academic Governance
  • Managing adjunct faculty, handling their recruitment, scheduling, and performance evaluations while nurturing a dynamic learning environment.

Additionally, you will support CCO staff, departments, and resources by engaging with student advisors, eLearning experts, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to contribute to CCO's marketing, truED, and alumni initiatives as needed and attend our memorable Commencement ceremonies.


Requirements:

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Undergraduate or graduate teaching experience in an online classroom using a learning management system
  • Relevant leadership experience in an online program.
  • Direct experience managing adjunct faculty and/or other academic staff
  • Demonstrated ability to work with, and be sensitive to, the needs of diverse populations. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Doctorate degree in a relevant field 
  • Industry certifications in relevant fields
