Program Director and Clinical Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy

Position Summary:           

Yeshiva University’s Katz School seeks a dynamic director to serve as academic and administrative lead for its graduate Occupational Therapy program.  The director will be responsible for developing, implementing, administering and evaluating the overall effectiveness of the program. The program director will provide transformative direction and oversight with a commitment to excellence in teaching, clinical practice, research and community. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Preparing all relevant accreditation documents to be submitted to the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE);
  • Ensuring the program meets student outcome expectations including high GPAs, retention rates and graduation rates; required clinical/externship placement, exam and licensure pass rates; high student satisfaction ratings; as well as university set enrollment and revenue goals
  • Leading faculty recruitment, hiring, development, evaluation, and tenure support, and creating a culture of collegiality and shared governance
  • Overseeing curriculum development, clinical programming, program assessment, and a process for continuous improvement
  • Developing and overseeing academic policies
  • Establishing clinical and externship agreements as well as commitments for placements.
  • Overseeing student recruitment and selection with the expectation of significant program growth
  • Overseeing student advisement, progress towards degree, and grading
  • Providing direction and oversight with a commitment to excellence in teaching, practice, research and community
  • Developing, implementing, administering and evaluating the overall effectiveness of your programs
  • Teaming with administrators and faculty of other Yeshiva University programs to identify synergistic strategies and shared goals
  • Establishing partnerships with local, national, and international organizations to raise the visibility of the University, the Katz School, and your programs
  • Developing, in the future, grants, contracts, philanthropy, and research opportunities
  • Managing budgets and resources
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience & Educational Background:

  • Doctoral degree in occupational therapy or related field awarded by an accredited institution
  • Minimum 8 years of documented experience, 5 in the field of occupational therapy (including clinical practice) and 3 in higher education
  • Initial certification as occupational therapist, registered with the NBCOT, Inc.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of New York
  • Documented higher education administrative experience, including but not limited to, program planning and implementation, assessment/continuous improvement, personnel management, shared governance, and budgeting
  • Distinguished record of clinical accomplishment, contributions to practice/treatment, grant development, and some publications
  • Vision and commitment to enhance the visibility, reputation, and community contributions of the occupational therapy program

  • Excellence in teaching and graduate student mentorship
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills.

Salary Range:

$75,000-$180,000
