A Glimpse of the Job

Texas A&M University’s School of Education and Human Development is seeking a Program Director for the Aggie Achieve Program. As part of the Department of Educational Psychology (EPSY), the Aggie Achieve Program is a comprehensive transition program (CTP) for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who have exited high school.

We’re seeking a director with drive and compassion to lead this very rewarding opportunity as you spearhead the development, administration, and implementation of quality services of value, and programs to effectively meet student needs, attaining and promoting the objectives of the Aggie Achieve Program. Your ambition for continued program improvement will be satisfied as you analyze program statistics using data and rubrics for reporting, tracking progress, and adjusting your program for continued growth and success, tempered with the direction you provide your staff while you develop, oversee, and approve program budgets.

Opportunities to contribute

  • Develop program strategic plans, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure program objectives are attained
  • Identify and secure program funding and expansion resources
  • Evaluate program procedures and performance reports

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ten years of related experience.

The well qualified applicant may have a master’s degree or Doctorate (PhD or EdD) in Special Education, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, or closely related field coupled with experience leading in a variety of settings serving young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
