Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
As the University’s Chief Academic Officer, the Provost has broad responsibilities for advancing the education and research missions of the University. The Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost (OEVCP) provides the leadership for UNC-CH’s strategic planning for academic programs. The Provost’s organization ensures the development and enhancement of high quality baccalaureate, masters and doctoral-level programs through ongoing program review and assessment, the raising of academic standards, and the expansion of research and other scholarship/creative activity.
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Program Coordinator to join our team and support faculty development initiatives within our institution. The Program Coordinator will play a key role in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs aimed at enhancing the professional growth and success of our faculty members.
Responsibilities include:
Collaborate with OFA team to plan and coordinate workshops, seminars, and training sessions for faculty members.
Coordinate logistics for faculty development events, including scheduling, venue arrangements, catering, and equipment setup.
Communicate program details, schedules, and resources to faculty members and facilitate their participation in development activities.
Maintain accurate records related to faculty development programs, participant feedback, and program evaluation metrics.
Provide administrative support to faculty development initiatives, including preparing materials, coordinating communication, and managing program documentation.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, administrators, guest speakers, and vendors, to ensure successful program delivery.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience working in program coordination, event planning, or faculty development within a higher education environment.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design concepts, and professional development strategies.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute to a dynamic team environment.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with program management software or databases.
