Job Summary
The Office of Community Engagement, Equity, and Belonging (CEEB) is focused on helping ensure that all students feel connected to the broad Harvard Law School (HLS) community and within smaller environments across our campus. Among other responsibilities, this office develops and provides new programming for historically underrepresented and first-generation students; builds on the Amicus platform as a tool for creating mentorship connections; and supports leaders of HLS student organizations and journals in achieving their goals. The Program Coordinator works within this high-volume setting providing proactive customer service to office administration and students, including 100+ student organizations, ensuring that needs are met.
Position Description
As a Program Coordinator, you will:
- Manage the processes and policies for student organization leadership transitions, policies and procedures for the creation and dissolution of student organizations
- Support student organizations with events; negotiate with caterers and vendors, make recommendations for products, food, and activities, assign and coordinate room reservations, AV, and other facilities
- Gather and maintain data and prepare reports for the office, using systems such as Amicus, Qualtrics, and advanced Excel skills; prepare statistics and reports on program participation, budget, and evaluations
- Contribute to planning and coordination of all office events, assist with orientation events, as well as other social events for students and student organizations
- Provide backup support for the Amicus system
- Provide backup support to the CEEB front-of-office staff including front-line communications, answering phones and email
Basic Qualifications
3 or more years of experience in office administration or related field (business environment and/or customer service) including organization and execution of events. Education beyond high school may count toward experience.
Additional Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for people who have:
- Proficiency in MS Office 365, particularly Excel
- Strong commitment to providing high-level customer service
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and are motivated to take initiative and own tasks, processes, or projects
- Ability to support students and diverse constituencies with seasoned problem-solving skills, strong diplomatic skills, detail orientation, and ability to handle complex and confidential material
- Proven ability to stay organized and prioritize with frequently shifting priorities and interruptions
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Knowledge of Law School and higher education a plus
