The Program Coordinator for Student Success Initiatives will have a dual reporting structure within the Division of Student Affairs, reporting to the Associate Director of Student Success Initiatives and the Executive Director of the Career Center. The Program Coordinator will coordinate targeted programs and initiatives designed to support the success of first-generation and limited income students. The Program Coordinator will manage the Career Prep Academy and co-manage the Provost Academy and Provost Academy Leaders Program. The Program Coordinator will also partner with the Office of the Provost-Academic Team, Office of Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement, TRIO Student Support Services, the Office of Inclusion and Belonging, and the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. The cross­ functionality and collaborative nature of this position will allow the Program Coordinator to advance the objectives and goals of supporting first-generation and limited income students by working with distinct student populations from whom the Career Prep Academy is likely to pull participants.

Responsibilities and Duties:

•   Provide managerial, strategic, administrative, and logistical support for equitable career outcomes strategies and collegiate success for students and graduates.
•    Lead planning meetings and propose improvements if necessary.
•    Evaluate potential problems and technical hitches and develop solutions.
•    Plan and manage team goals, project schedules, and new information to keep workflow on track.
•    Track program budget to support objectives and goals corresponding to multiple departments.
•    Provide strategic, administrative, and logistical support for the week-long Provost Academy Summer Bridge Program.
•    Managerial supervision, recruitment, hiring, training, and assessment of the Provost Academy Leaders (PAL's) Peer Mentorship program.
•    Design and implement a leadership development program to embed in the Provost Academy Leaders training and job responsibilities to enhance future career soft skills.
•    Assist with enhancing peer mentorship experience through benchmarking matching and tracking systems and communication tools.
•    Assist with Provost Academy student success initiatives to further retain and graduate first ­generation and limited-income students.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Components: Career Prep Academy: The Program Coordinator will be responsible for the oversight and coordination of the Career Prep Academy, and will work with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate, execute, and expand career readiness strategies for select student groups to eliminate racial and socioeconomic disparities in employment outcomes. The Program Coordinator will manage the program's projects, events, and communications, specifically ensuring that the strategies are planned and executed in a manner that will ensure intended outcomes and deliverables. Responsibilities include execution of strategy, teaching up to 4 sections per semester, program assessment, tracking of the program's budget, analyzing program data each semester and reporting measurable outcomes, and compliance with University policies and procedures. The Program Coordinator will serve as key contact and liaison between the Career Prep Academy planning team, career consultant instructors, Career Center, and the Student Engagement and Professional Development leadership team within the Division of Student Affairs. Provost Academy Leaders (PALs): The Program Coordinator will manage the recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of the Provost Academy Leaders (PALs) student leadership program. The Program Coordinator will also lead focused efforts to connect the PALs student leadership position with career skills and professional development. Provost Academy: The Program Coordinator will assist the Associate Director of Student Success Initiatives with the planning, implementation, and execution of the Provost Academy summer bridge program. The Program Coordinator will build and coordinate content for the Provost Academy lnstagram, highlighting the PALs and information about the program. The Program Coordinator will also assist with planning and execution of fall and spring term events and communications to new and past Provost Academy participants to promote belonging, connection and retention. Student Success Initiatives: The Program Coordinator will assist the Associate Director in the development, execution and assessment of student success programs and initiatives that support first ­generation and limited income students, with a focus on connecting these students with career and professional development opportunities. Career Center Professional Development: Staff meetings and career-related professional development and training.



Job Summary

Executes the daily activities for an assigned program area, section, or special interest group. Manages administrative tasks and logistics. Conceives and implements co-curricular programs to include budgetary preparations and evaluations.


Essential Functions 

-Plans, coordinates, and administers activities of academic, educational, recreational, cultural, residential, social, and other co-curricular programs to include developing and implementing procedures, processes, services, and systems.

-Maintains liaison with other programs, offices, and departments to coordinate program business and accomplish program objectives; interfaces with external organizations as appropriate to ensure cooperative efforts are enhanced and available resources are utilized.

-Assists in monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative research techniques; investigates trends and recommends or implements modifications to improve program effectiveness; assists with coordinating public relations activities and developing plans and schedules for the release of publicity materials; assists with preparing budgets and grants; monitors, verifies, and reconciles expenditure of budgeted funds as appropriate.


Physical Effort 

Light physical effort is required. Position is primarily sedentary with the exception of Provost Academy week.
