The Bhabha and Ekiert Labs are looking to hire a Program Coordinator, Casual to coordinate, support and manage all administrative and programmatic activities for their lab and research programs.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Science communication and DEI outreach, maintain lab website and social media accounts; co-organize and help execute summer research immersion program for participants.
  • Ensure efficient lab operations, including ordering and tracking; maintaining lab inventories and databases in Quartzy and Benching; communicating with vendors; assisting with staff computers and software; coordinating group meetings, scientific meetings, journal clubs, and lab retreats; coordinate regular maintenance of equipment (e.g., BSC certifications; FPLC annual maintenance; etc.) maintain supply of CO2, Argon, ethane, and liquid nitrogen.
  • Maintain lab accounts (Google Drive for data storage, etc. equipment scheduler; Slack;) add new users when people join the lab; remove old users when they leave.
  • Assist with onboarding/orientation of new lab members; ensure people leave their data and files in an organized way with README files upon departure.
  • Assist with the annual renewal of SOPs, BSL-2 authorizations and radiation permits, chemical/fire safety protocols, hazardous/flammable chemical inventory, etc.


Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Expert usage of lab inventory apps such as LabSuit.
  • Formatting of documents in g-doc.
  • Website design and maintenance.
  • Highly organized.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Excellent and clear communicator.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to interface effectively with lab members, colleagues.
  • Expert usage of calendar and scheduling apps, google sheets, google drive, google docs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
  • Five years progressively responsible related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Usage of organizational aps.
  • Website design and maintenance.
