Coordinates and provides senior-level administrative support to an ongoing program at the University.

Additional Posting Information:
- The position will be located onsite at the University of Houston College of Optometry.
- Typical work week is Monday - Friday during normal business hours (8am – 6pm).
- The position will report to the Associate Dean for Clinical Operations.
- The position will serve to support clinical operations projects, act as first-line contact for visitors, manage calendars, and will be directly assisting the Associate Dean in day-to-day work.

Qualifications
Program Coordinator 1:
High school and No experience
Education: Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. as might normally be acquired through attainment of a high school diploma or GED. Experience: No experience required
Program Coordinator 2:
Associates and 1 year experience
Education: Requires the ability and knowledge for analysis and interpretation of procedures, policies and practices attainable through specific education and/or training programs in a specialty or technical field. Advanced vocational or electronic skills or a basic knowledge of a professional field is required. An Associate's degree or certification/licensing in a technical specialty program of over 18 months and up to 3 years duration are characteristic of this field. Experience: Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelors Degree with a minimum 1 year of work related experience
- Has an expert level of Microsoft Excel to utilize to obtain descriptive statistics, create charts and graphs, and to produce reports. Has ability to work independently, to manage projects, review and track contracts with an impeccable ability to use proper grammar and spelling free of errors.
- Partial MHA or MBA course credit or degree preferred.
- Optometry and/or Ophthalmology administrative experience preferred.
- The department is willing to consider education in lieu of experience.
Salary: Commensurate with experience
