Summary of Job Duties:

Assist Extension Entomologist in coordination of Row Crop Entomology Program: field trial evaluation of pest control studies in cotton, rice, soybean, grain sorghum, corn and wheat; data collection and analysis. Job requires fieldwork throughout the year. Requires knowledge of rearing insects, as well as, managing greenhouse and laboratory research. Requires the ability record, enter, manage, and analyze large amounts of data. Applicant will be required to prepare reports and educational materials for professional meetings.
Conduct applied research responsibilities to include: planning plot work, collecting, recording and analyzing data; and, incorporating the data into data management software. Requires knowledge of rearing insects, managing greenhouse and laboratory research. Summarizing data, preparing reports, and developing visual aids will also be required. Supervise temporary employees. Duties also includes purchasing and record keeping. Relevant experience in small plot fieldwork is required. Extensive travel will be required at times, and overnight stays are sometimes necessary.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in agriculture or related field plus three (3) years of related experince OR a related Master's degree is required. Experience with data analysis and management is required.

Preferred Qualifications:


Masters degree in an agriculture related field. Three years of relevant work experience in small and large block field plots. Experience with Agricultural Research Manager and Excel.
