Job Description Summary:

Reporting within the Office for Student Success, the Summer and Non-Degree Program Associate reports to the Assistant Director for Academic Success and Summer Programs, with responsibilities to support the overall and programmatic functions of the office.
The Summer and Non-Degree Program Associate is responsible for supporting the Office of Summer and Non-Degree Programs’ work with various university populations, including middle and high school students (via the Pre-College, DCPS Dual Enrollment, and the School Without Walls Exposure programs), non-traditional students (via the General Non-Degree Study program), and international students (via the International Summer program). This role will support the admissions/enrollment, basic communications, and logistical upkeep of these programs. During the summer Pre-College Program, the role’s responsibilities will shift to include supporting summer staff with programming as needed. Most programs take place during the summer at GW’s Mount Vernon Campus and include a range of credit and noncredit offerings.
This position is a part-time position. The incumbent will be available and on call during the summer when programs are in session. Evening and weekend hours are required.
Job Duties

Recruitment, Admissions, and Enrollment:
  • Assist OSNDP staff with recruitment and outreach efforts for dual enrollment and pre-college programs.
  • Design and implement initiatives to engage, support, and develop dual-enrollment students
  • Assist with reviewing and admitting non-degree and pre-college applications
  • Assist with the overall logistics flow of the DCPS Dual Enrollment and School Without Walls Exposure programs

Communications Flow:
  • Maintain an excellent working knowledge of the unit’s programs and requirements, managing a high volume of inquiries and applications through all stages of the enrollment and program cycles.
  • Monitor the Pre-College and Non-Degree email inboxes and phone lines, responding to concerns and escalating matters as necessary.
  • Attend SLATE implementation meetings

General Logistics Support:
  • Assist with processing registration transaction forms (RTFs) for non-degree students
  • Route OSNDP MOUs/MOAs through the signature process
  • Provide general support for the International Summer program, including liaising with the International Services Office (ISO)

Pre-College Program Support:
  • Assist with summer staff training as needed
  • Support the program staff with various initiatives, including the following:
  • Approving Student Leave Forms
  • Supporting the Incident Report process
  • Staffing the on-call phone as necessary
  • Assisting with monitoring daily student communications (via GroupMe or similar platform)
  • Support student workshops, evening/weekend activities as needed

The incumbent may perform other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
