The University of San Diego School of Law invites applications for a Professor of Legal Writing position for the 2024-2025 academic year.  This Professor will teach up to two section(s), each semester, of the required first-year legal research, writing, and analysis course, Legal Writing and Research.  This position is a full-time, non-tenure-track adjunct faculty position.  The Legal Writing and Research program seeks individuals who wish to work in a collaborative atmosphere with others who are committed to excellence in teaching.

The Professor’s primary responsibilities will include teaching classes, preparing assignments, critiquing assignments, meeting with students, and contributing to the Legal Writing and Research program.  Each legal writing faculty member is also responsible for all aspects of successful and timely course administration.  Professors teach in both the day and evening programs, depending on need.  Professors attend general faculty meetings and may serve on faculty committees. Professors are hired to work from August through May with the possibility of annual reappointment. After a successful first year, there is an expectation that the appointment will be renewed as a three-year appointment.  The salary range is $80,000-$90,000.
