Description

 

The department of Chemistry at the University of Colorado Denver seeks a highly motivated PRA who will work on dissecting the molecular mechanisms that underpin how Polycomb group proteins regulate gene expression through liquid-liquid phase separation. 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Perform experiments of live-cell single-molecule imaging

·         Establish knockin/knockout cell lines by CRISPR/Cas9

·         Generate of cell lines by Lenti-virus transduction

·         Perform CUT&RUN/CUT&Tag experiments

·         Perform Hi-C experiments

·         Carry out experiments of liquid-liquid phase separation

·         Analyze genomic data with helps from collaborators

·         Supervise undergraduate and master students

·         Write manuscript

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications:

        A master’s degree in chemistry or related field is required.

        At least 3 peer-reviewed papers in high-profile journals.

        At least one first-authored paper on live-cell single-molecule tracking.

        At least one co-authored paper on liquid-liquid phase separation of Polycomb proteins.

Required:  Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

        Proficiency in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, and molecular genetics.

        Be able to perform live-cell single-molecule imaging.

        Be able to establish knockin/knockout cell lines by CRISPR/Cas9.

        Be able to generate cell lines by Lenti-virus transduction.

        Be able to perform CUT&RUN/CUT&Tag experiments.

        Be able to perform Hi-C experiments.

        Be able to carry out experiments of liquid-liquid phase separation.

·         Be able to analyze genomic data with help from collaborators.

·         Be able to supervise undergraduate and master students.

·         Be able to write manuscripts.

·         Live-cell single-molecule imaging, CRISPR-Cas9-mediated genetic engineering, Lentinus-mediated transduction, stem cell culture, protein purification, CUT&RUN, CUT&Tag, Hi-C, et al.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $37,000 to $42,000 

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
