Position Summary
Position responsible for recruiting individuals for a multi-center study on the genetics of alcoholism, conducting comprehensive psychiatric interviews, performing EEG brain scans, administering neuropsychological tests, and scheduling and delivering subject blood samples.
Job Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Recruits, interviews, screens, and schedules subjects for a multi-center study on the genetics of alcoholism per protocol.
- Documents all contacts with research participants and performs searches for contact information for participants who cannot be located.
- Performs EEG and neuropsychological testing in accordance with study guidelines.
- Completes and files all necessary paperwork, reviews interviews for accuracy and enters codes and scores tests.
- Performs data entry of study questionnaires.
- Monitors and orders supplies necessary for study.
- Schedules phlebotomy appointments and delivers study samples to a lab for testing.
- Prepares information packets for patients enrolled in the study.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous research experience and knowledge of database management helpful.
- Detail-oriented, strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact confidently and professionally with adults of all ages.
- Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision, exercise sound judgment and make effective decisions independently.
- Ability to work competently with PC based computer programs.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or a related field plus a minimum of one year of relevant experience; a combination of work and education equaling five years may substitute for this requirement.
- Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).

Salary Range
$18.84 - $28.29 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
