General Description
The AMSTI Professional Development Coordinator is an Office Support Personnel (OSP) member of the College of Education. The primary responsibility is the daily operation of the AMSTI office.
Essential Job Duties
1. Assist AMSTI Staff as office information manager performing routine office duties.
2. Plan and schedule meetings and appointments.
3. Assist with planning and implementing AMSTI-UM professional learning opportunities (including registration, scheduling, reimbursement, etc.).
4. Communicate effectively with AMSTI materials center staff to assist in the effective operation of a materials distribution and refurbishment center.
5. Organize and maintain paper and electronic files.
6. Draft and proofread correspondence and other documents.
7. Maintain and revise the AMSTI-UM databases, including those involving teachers and trainers.
8. Respond to inquiries concerning AMSTI operations and practices knowledgeably and professionally.
9. Compile data and prepare reports.
10. Communicate effectively with area public school administrators, teachers, and SDE personnel.
11. Maintain office equipment and supplies.
12. Perform other duties assigned by the AMSTI site director, AMSTI site assistant director, AMSTI state coordinator, or the Inservice Center director.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases required
Demonstrated competence in oral and written communication
Education and Experience
High School diploma required (some higher education preferred)
Previous office experience preferred
Licenses, Certification or Registrations
Current Alabama driver’s license and acceptable driving record required
