The Position : The incumbent will oversee the technical aspects required to successfully execute the Luckman presenting season, rentals, and other events in the Luckman Theatre, the Intimate Theatre, and the Luckman Gallery, plus all ancillary spaces. The incumbent will manage on-call crew and is responsible for the planning of the physical realization of the Executive Director’s vision for all Luckman events at all Luckman facilities, as well as for the physical realization of events as per rental clients. The incumbent will manage instrument/equipment needs pertinent to each event and is directly responsible for overseeing and implementing the production schedule for all events. The incumbent will work with other staff members to provide technical and production guidance and assistance for all events and presentations. Incumbent will ensure adherence to health and safety protocol on-stage, backstage, and within the Complex’s facilities, and ensures all safety measures are enforced. Responsible for meeting budget guidelines as set forth by the Executive Director. The incumbent will provide budget projections for supplies, services, and labor related to events and productions to the Executive Director. Other responsibilities include: manage all Luckman technical production and exhibition needs by operating and maintaining theatre and gallery rigging, lighting, audio, video, film and other technical equipment and facilities to meet all safety and operational requirements; oversee and work all load-ins, strikes, and restores; support the installation and de-installation of art works in the Luckman Gallery; attend all Luckman performances, exhibitions, and other functions/events; provide accurate and current technical information for the Luckman rental packet; attend and participate in lease client walk-throughs; production supervisor for rehearsals, rentals production days, and performances; supervise Luckman technical crew; schedule stage leads, stagehands, and support technicians for all Luckman presentations and events; follow up with all scheduled staff to confirm shifts and assignments; send daily and weekly schedules and communicate schedule changes to relevant stage crew and Luckman administration; develop and distribute show schedules and communicate schedule changes to crew and administration; manage all crew related payroll duties for submittal to the Business Manager; review artists' and clients’ technical riders to analyze feasibility and recommend substitutions and updates to the Executive Director; manage the technical planning for events by reviewing technical riders to determine feasibility, creating estimates for all events, and ordering all necessary backline items, supplies, and other equipment; planning and scheduling production activities to ensure all presentations run efficiently for staff, visiting performers and rental clients; serve as technical coordinator working with artists, designers, crews, producers, directors, and managers; manage Luckman technical crew pool including hiring and training; create job descriptions for crew positions for review by administration; conduct interviews; manage, augment, and conduct crew training program; manage equipment rentals in consultation with Executive Director; review rental invoices; order supplies and stock of necessary production items; schedule all delivery and pickup of equipment and supplies required for the gallery and theatres; assure department operates within its budget, keep an accurate calendar of all activity, and prepare a final settlement of expense for each activity; manage all issues related to theatre and gallery storage; maintain all theatrical gallery equipment and schedule repair and replacement of equipment; update Use of Facilities Policies and Procedures document; update Theatre and Gallery technical inventory documents; manage and maintain the safe working order of all technical equipment and systems; and other duties as assigned.
