The Pre-Collegiate Support and Success Center  (PCSSC) is an academic and socio-emotional enrichment program for prioritized middle and high school students in Colorado Springs and Pueblo. We prepare first generation, low income, and military dependent students to pursue their postsecondary goals.

The Pueblo Pre-Collegiate Program Assistant is a part-time, in-person position based at Pueblo Community College in Pueblo, Colorado. This position will support middle school and high school scholars and daily operations of the Pueblo Pre-Collegiate Program. This includes utilizing program ideas and creating related activities for middle school and high school students and families, coordinating office operations (e.g., greeting students and parents, staffing the office, office communications), and preparing events (creating flyers, RSVP forms, QR codes, emails, and securing reservations for space, food, and materials). This position assists with contacting students and families to encourage participation, managing transportation, meeting with individual scholars to support their development and postsecondary planning, and conducting community outreach.

Job Duties:

  • Works part-time, in-person at the Pueblo Community College Pre-Collegiate office located in Pueblo, Colorado.
  • Assists in the creation of age-appropriate and culturally responsive programming for scholars and families.
  • Takes program ideas and creates events, then follows up with evaluation and data tracking.
  • Establishes working relationships with a group of scholars to convey program information and activities and mentors them from the start of the program through high school graduation.
  • Assists with coordination of transportation through Everdriven.
  • Organizes logistics for and participates in scholar and family programming, Summer Academic Institute, Bridge Program, Recruitment and Outreach events, large scale, and alumni events.
  • Manages lists of scholars, including updating contact information, tracking meeting and workshop RSVPs, registrations, and attendance and ensures these are accurately entered in a database (e.g., CoBro).
  • Provides on and off-site support for programming, including some evening and weekend events, virtual events, and summer programs.
  • Assists with collecting reports and feedback regarding the effectiveness of the programs.
  • Secures a variety of postsecondary, community and business resources as well as guest speakers/facilitators who can conduct activities and workshops for up to eighty middle school and high school youth.
  • Actively collaborates with the PCDP team to support our mission and vision during the year and during the Summer Academic Institute.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Work Location: On-Site Pueblo Pre-Collegiate Office located at Pueblo Community College in Pueblo


This position has been determined to be eligible for overtime (non-exempt) under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).


What We Offer:

Salary Range: $22,639.50 - $30,186 (Part time 20 hours/week.)

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  •         High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  •         Valid Driver’s License.
  •         Background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • High-level attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
  • Receptive to feedback and continual learning.
  • Knowledge of program management, laws and regulations for working with minors, and working in team environment with professional staff and young adults.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, and move. On event days, long periods of speaking, standing, walking, and lifting will be required. Tasks may involve using a computer continuously for long periods of time. Tasks may also involve frequent participation in school environments and with high school aged youth, undergraduate and graduate students. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
