Job Summary
- Maintain a professional and organized reception area, greeting and checking in approximately 150 clients daily.
- Provide front desk coverage, triage calls, and direct visitors to appropriate clinicians.
- Assist with administrative support for clinical emergencies and manage day-to-day clinic needs.
- Handle referral information, receive packages, and provide up-to-date information to clients.
- Participate in committees and perform other assigned duties.
Program Support:
- Enter evaluation data, schedule medical follow-ups, and manage grant applications.
- Handle client phones and iPads, create schedules, and manage operational needs.
- Administer surveys, manage clinic space utilization, and provide administrative support for maintenance.
Department Description
UCSF's Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to work in a high stress, high volume area, and work well with deadlines and under pressure. Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately; detail oriented. Strong analytical skills and ability to prioritize between multiple demands.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with others, especially marginal populations diverse in ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation. Able to work as a team member in a culturally diverse setting.
- High degree of commitment, flexibility, self-motivation, self-confidence, assertiveness, and high tolerance for ambiguity, excellent problem solving ability; self-starter with the ability to work both independently and with teams; sense of humor and patience a plus.
- Excellent computer skills using standard PC software (MS Word, Excel, and/or Access) for word-processing, spreadsheet, and database management.
- Demonstrated excellent punctuality, attendance and reliability.
- High school graduate and at least three years of related administrative experience, including one year of mental health treatment in a clinical setting in a large university, teaching institution, or health care environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability with database programs.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Knowledge of mental health and/or psychiatric terminology s.
- Prior UC experience.
