Schrödinger, a science and technology leader with over 20 years of experience providing solutions for atomic-scale modeling and physics-based chemical simulations, is seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist to perform drug discovery research in the area of antimalarial drug resistance, in collaboration with an academic lab.
We are seeking a candidate with a doctorate in chemistry, biochemistry or biophysics, who has wet-lab protein research experience. The candidate will perform both wet-lab biophysical ligand-binding experiments such as SPR and ITC, as well as computational modeling calculations such as molecular dynamics and free energy perturbation simulations. We expect this position will be for up to a one year period, but may consider a longer term relationship after the first year. The candidate will work closely with teams in both of our Massachusetts locations: Cambridge and Framingham.
Postdocs in this position are expected to gain high proficiency with Schrödinger computational chemistry technologies applied to small molecule drug discovery research. Exceptional communication skills and research project organization experience are required.
Required qualifications include:
- PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics or related field
- Proficiency with measuring the affinity of protein/ligand interactions
- Some experience with computational modeling
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to conduct independent research
Desirable qualifications include:
- Experience using SPR and/or ITC to measure the affinity of protein/ligand interactions
- Experience solving protein/ligand structures by X-ray crystallography
- Experience performing molecular dynamics and/or free energy perturbation simulations on protein/ligand complexes
- Experience using the Schrödinger platform
- Python programming experience
