About the postdoctoral position

We are seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher in the field of neuroimaging and Alzheimers dementia, to join INI Microstructural imaging Group (www.ini.usc.edu/IMG/). The research will focus on structural and microstructural modelling of brain tissue and brain clearance system. The successful applicant will have experience in mathematical modeling, biomedical image analysis, statistical analysis, bioinformatics, big data, multimodal MRI, methods development in MRI, or data mining techniques.

The selected candidate will be part of USC Mark and Mary Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute and Laboratory of Neuro Imaging (INI, www.ini.usc.edu). INI focuses on development of advanced computational and scientific approaches for the comprehensive mapping of brain structure and function. LONIs unique multidisciplinary environment and cutting-edge resources allow for integration of clinical, psychological and genotypic information with neuroimaging phenotypes for research questions in neurology, psychiatry and developmental neurobiology. INI offers a wide range of computational and imaging resources:- High performance computing, - 3T Prisma Siemens scanner, -7T Terra Siemens scanner, - An open and inclusive culture that supports personal development and learning within the Keck school of medicine of USC.

  • MD or PhD in neuroscience or related fields
  • Statistical analysis
  • Experienced working with massive datasets
  • Solid understanding about pathophysiology of Alzheimers disease and related dementia
  • Computational neuroimaging skills

This position will also include opportunities to co-author publications and to contribute to the development of grant proposals. The successful applicants will join a team working closely with graduate students, postdoctoral scientists and faculty from other research groups. Professional development is strongly encouraged including support for professional travel to conferences.

The annual base salary range for this position is $54,080 - $65,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidates work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.


Minimum education: PhD or equivalent doctorate within previous three yearsMinimum experience: 0-1 year. Analysis, assessment/evaluation, communication - written and oral skills, organization, planning, problem identification and resolution, project management, researchMinimum field of expertise: Directly related education in research specialization with advanced knowledge of equipment, procedures and analysis methods.
