Job Description

The laboratory of Dr. Scott Earley (Google Scholar Profile: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=lR-xaZcAAAAJ&hl=en ) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral scholar. Our research program, funded by a 7-year R35 Outstanding Investigator Award from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, occupies the intersection of biophysics, neuroscience, and vascular physiology.  Our goals are focused on understanding how transient receptor potential (TRP) cation channels, acting as essential molecular sensors of the brain’s internal environment, influence critical aspects of cerebral microvascular regulation to maintain optimal brain health and function. Projects are available to investigate autoregulation of blood flow in the brain and neurovascular coupling. Another collaborative project, funded by NINDS, investigates genetic and age-dependent mechanisms of progressive cerebral small vessel diseases. Successful candidates will perform experiments, collect and analyze data, manage projects, train and supervise students, publish papers, and assist with preparation and submission of grants.

We are committed to the career development of our postdocs. Individuals who join our group will be encouraged to develop new skills, receive intensive mentoring, and encouraged to submit fellowship applications.
