A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Kathryn Schmitz in the Penn State Cancer Institute and Department of Public Health Sciences at the Penn State College of Medicine at the Pennsylvania State University. The candidate will lead multidisciplinary projects aimed at: 1) conducting clinical and basic science research on energetics and cancer; 2) translating effective energetics interventions into clinical cancer care in a manner that will be broadly disseminable; 3) guiding observational analyses and translational research on pathogenesis and new intervention targets and; 4) mentoring graduate students as well as domestic and international collaborators in clinical and translational research. The Schmitz laboratory conducts transdisciplinary research on energetics in cancer that includes randomized control trials, animal models and in vitro approaches, epidemiological analysis, and biomarker assessment in patient samples. We seek highly qualified individuals who are highly motivated, flexible, collaborative, detail-oriented, and have the ability to multitask and a commitment to research excellence.
