The Department of Neurology at Penn State College of Medicine is looking for a postdoctoral scholar for an initial term of one year effective July 1, 2017. The successful candidate will have experience in several computer languages (Python, Java, C++, etc.) and programming. In addition the successful applicant will be adept at conducting routine maintenance of computers and servers, developing image processing pipelines using cutting-edge algorithms for MRI data analysis, organizing large datasets, writing/modifying imaging processing codes for data preprocessing, and help train other lab members in processing and analyzing data for those projects that are of interest/import to the lab. The applicant should have excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational and time management skills, and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team. As a Postdoctoral Scholar, you will be participating in preparation and publication of your research findings, seminars, professional development opportunities, and presentation of your research scholarship at scientific meetings. In addition this position is supported by grant funds and if funding is discontinued or no longer available during the stated time period, it is understood and agreed that the appointment shall end with the funding. This is a fixed-term appointment funded one year from date of hire. Renewal of the appointment will be based on continued availability of funding.
