JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The College of Earth and Mineral Sciences of The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar position in Energy Geographies to begin August 1, 2024. The position will involve conducting research on an NSF-funded project studying the political-industrial ecology of petrochemicals in Appalachia.

A successful candidate should have a strong background in mixed-method nature-society geography with experience researching and working in Appalachia. Candidates should also have demonstrated abilities to work independently, publish, and organize research projects and events. The position is based in the Department of Geography, working under the supervision of Dr. Jennifer Baka (https://www.geog.psu.edu/directory/jennifer-baka).

Applicants are expected to have completed a Ph.D. in Geography or a related field by the start of the position. This term appointment is funded for two years from the date of hire with possibility of renewal. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
