Postdoctoral Scholar - Clinical Pharmacy and Translational Science - 24000000FY 



Description

 

A senior postdoctoral scholar is needed to participate in several research projects currently funded by the National Institutes of Health and other funding sources under the supervision of Dr. Glen Palmer within the Department of Clinical Pharmacy & Translational Science of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Pharmacy. The responsibilities include to assist Dr. Palmer to conduct health services research related to fungal pathogenesis, drug-fungi interactions, antifungal drug resistance and the development of new antifungals as well as other topics. The successful candidate will also be expected to take on administrative responsibilities related to the everyday laboratory operations, provide mentorship to more junior lab members and make intellectual as well as technical contributions to the ongoing projects.

Doctoral Degree

PhD or MD degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Infectious Disease, or a closely related discipline. Minimum of 2-years postdoctoral research experience in a relevant field.

Experience working with animal models of infectious disease, handling and genetic manipulation of infectious fungal isolates, as well as in basic molecular biology and biochemistry methods.
