JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State College of Medicine, Cancer Center, in Hershey, PA is seeking  a Postdoctoral Scholar. This is a full time Postdoctoral position in the laboratory of Dr. Raymond Hohl. Research includes cancer research with novel synthetic compounds, opioid growth receptor specific compound development, and mevalonate pathway regulatory compounds. The ideal candidate should have experience working with human cancer cell lines, Western blot analysis, MTT assays, migration studies, HPLC method development and operations of HPLC instrumentation, animal experience, and flow cytometry.  Basic knowledge of immunology and cancer biology at the PhD level is required. The candidate should also have experience in the laboratory setting, understanding of chemical hygiene in the research laboratory, and understanding of laboratory safety.  Desired experience with bioactive lipids, drug development and molecular techniques.  Experience with analytical method development and validation including experience with HPLC MS instrumentation would be highly valued.  Prior experience with quantitative analysis in support of clinical trials and use of pharmacokinetic modeling is also desired.

Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office software, Prism statistical analysis and visualization software is desired.

The candidate must have a PhD or equivalent medical degree and be able to commit to 40 hours per week and work well in a team environment to be successful.  

This is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire.
