Description: Applicants are invited for a post-doctoral researcher position within the Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine, in Baltimore.  The selected candidate will be involved in NIH-funded clinical neuroimaging research studies, to choose from but not limited to studies on longitudinal brain development (e.g., the ABCD study), substance use disorders and neuro-HIV/AIDS.  Opportunities will be provided to learn about clinical research, behavioral assessments, cognitive rehabilitation, as well as various translational research skills, including advanced image processing or novel imaging techniques with our collaborators at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.  Writing manuscripts and applying for independent research grants will be strongly encouraged.


 

Qualifications

 

Requirements: The qualified candidate should have a Ph.D. from an accredited college or university in neurosciences, psychology, biomedical engineering, or other related fields. Ideal candidates will have one to three (1-3) years of relevant experience in clinical neuroimaging research, or equivalent combination of training and experience. Previous experience in neuroimaging research or research related to substance abuse, HIV, brain development, or aging is preferred.  Working knowledge of statistical analysis software for imaging processing of structural and functional MRI data (e.g., SPM, FSL, Freesurfer, MRIStudio) is highly desirable.
