Postdoctoral research positions are available at University of California San Diego in Mathematical Biology and Evolutionary Dynamics. Candidates will be working as part of the research groups of Dominik Wodarz (Biological Sciences, UCSD, [email protected]) and Natalia Komarova (Department of Mathematics, UCSD, [email protected]).

Research topics include: evolutionary theory, mathematical oncology, models of stem cell dynamics, modeling infectious disease dynamics, and modeling complex social phenomena. Expertise should include fields such as scientific computing, numerical analysis, differential equations, and probability. We encourage applications from researchers who have demonstrated a strong connection between computational mathematics and applications in biology.

UCSD presents a unique environment for researchers interested in mathematical biology and evolutionary dynamics, with expertise spanning Mathematics, Ecology, Behavior & Evolution, Physics, and Engineering.  A particular strength is access to cutting edge experimental / clinical labs in the School of Biology and the School of Medicine, presenting opportunities for collaborations and application of mathematical models to experimental and clinical data.

This position is initially for 1 year, and renewable for subsequent years.  Please send your CV to the email addresses above.
