Multiple Postdoc Positions in Immunology, Stem Cell Biology and Bioengineering

The Laboratory of Human Biomimetics (www.humanbiomimetics.com) seeks new team members. We are a multidisciplinary team of creative scientists on a mission to reverse engineer multiorgan human biology in order to solve many of the existing mysteries in medicine. We do so by employing an array of tools like stem cell and molecular biology techniques, fluidic engineering and 3D bioprinting and advanced systems biology.

We are pursuing a number of ongoing projects aimed at systemic metabolic and autoimmune disorders as well as projects centered around basic human physiology and interorgan crosstalk. If you are interested in these topics and approaches and are looking for new challenges and mentorship, we would like to hear from you.

We are particularly interested in individuals with a background in immunology, metabolic disease research, engineering and stem cell biology (iPSC/organoids).

Successful candidates should be capable of working in highly multidisciplinary research teams and have a demonstrated track record of success in independent scientific research. Strong applicants will exhibit significant basic science understanding, creativity, motivation, and an ability to originate significant original research. Strong written and verbal English language skills are required.

Our home is at the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and Institute for Fundamental Biomedical Research in St. Petersburg, Florida. The new institute represents a superbly equipped research environment that aims to connect basic and clinical researchers to solve some of the biggest medical challenges. Trainees and postdoctoral scientists also have full access to resources available at the main Johns Hopkins Baltimore campus and are strongly encouraged to participate in JHU-wide activities and collaborations. The lab and institute are fully committed to the candidate’s career development and path to independence.

St. Petersburg offers a great quality of life in terms of affordability, pristine nature, close proximity to Tampa bay’s international airport, and vibrant cultural life.

If interested in the position, please submit a CV and brief description of your scientific interests to mtrapec1 (at) jhmi.edu.
