Position Summary
Postdoc Position for Hydrogen Electrosynthesis
The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at the Indiana University of Indianapolis is seeking qualified applicants for a postdoctoral research fellow position. Are you interested in Materials Science and Renewable Energy Production ? The Hydrogen Electrosynthesis Sardar Research group is at the forefront of the development of nanoparticle-based electrocatalyst development for hydrogen production. More information about the research can be found at https://sardar.lab.iupui.edu . Specific projects are part of an exciting research program funded by NSF and ONR focusing on the synthesis of unique plasmonic nanoparticles for their applications in photoelectrocatalysis.
The duration of the initial appointment will be for one year. The position can be renewable based on research productivity, performance, and funding.
Consideration for the postdoc position will be given to candidates with:
  • Deep understanding of electrochemistry, kinetics of electrocatalysis, lab-scale prototype fabrication of polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) electrolyzers, and fundamental understanding of hydrogen evolution reactions (HERs).
  • Capabilities of operating scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffractometer, and Raman and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy instruments.
  • Solid communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A doctorate degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a Postdoc member at IUI.
