A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, University of Nebraska Medical Center. The primary purpose of this Research Associate position is to plan, coordinate, and conduct scientific research projects independently under the supervision of the Principle Investigator. This includes conducting experiments, evaluating research data, revising techniques, and optimizing new methods and approaches to solve scientific problems. The Research Associate will compile, format, and submit project results to Mentor/supervisor on a regular basis. The person is also responsible for organizing data and the data to write and prepare manuscript drafts and discuss with the Supervisor, for publication in scientific journals. In addition, the Research Associate will also implement safety procedures and use of laboratory equipment. Applicants must have a strong background in cell and molecular biology, cell culture and gene transcription, protein biochemistry, and protein-protein interaction(s). Experience with mammalian cell culture techniques and handling and working experience with animals is also required. Applicants must also have a strong work ethic and self-motivation with excellent English communication and writing skills.
